Daisy didn’t deserve his crappy treatment at all. He’s one of the worst heroes I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading in the romance genre. There’s a bit of groveling in the end and he does fight for her, which took a bit of the sting out of his horrible behaviour. Like I said, Alex eventually got tolerable…until the climax…where he says something utterly unforgivable to the heroine. And he keeps secrets from her - basic things like his actual profession outside the circus. Even though Alex starts caring for Daisy and they both begin to spend a lot of time together, he still doesn’t trust her. He begins to defend her and that’s when the romance actually begins to grow. He eventually realizes that he was a piece of shit who made assumptions about Daisy. But that doesn’t give him the right to humiliate her and to just stand by while others humiliate her.

Alex has zero trust in Daisy, which at first I could understand. Her parents and stepmom have zero respect for her. Daisy is a victim of emotional manipulation and parental neglect. Daisy’s father, stepmom, and late mom are manipulative pieces of shit. You’d both be wrong.Įvery character in this book, with the exception of Daisy and the circus animals, can fall off a cliff and die a brutal death. You’re probably thinking that Daisy is an air-headed socialite who spends money left and right. Daisy chooses the second option and marries Alex Markov, a circus manager, who expects her to work at the circus to earn her keep. Flighty socialite Daisy Devreaux’s father gives her an ultimatum: 1) go to prison for not paying her debts or 2) marry the stranger he picked for her.

The audiobook was released on Audible this month. Kiss An Angel is an old school contemporary romance originally published in 1996. I received an ALC from Harper Audio in exchange for an honest review.
